GOSPEL SINGING WORKSHOP

The Sarah Sheppard Spirituals Association, in collaboration with the Evangelic Methodist Church and the Institute of German Culture have organized a Gospel singing workshop to be held in Bologna by the British singer from London, of Jamaican origin, Andrea Robinson.
The singing workshop will be held during the month of April 2010 in two different locations in the historical centre of Bologna, five minutes from one another:

• The Evangelic Methodist Church, in Via Venezian 3 (a cross street from Via Ugo Bassi)
  The Institute of German Culture, in Via De’ Marchi 4 (behind Piazza Malpighi)

with the following dates and schedules:

• Friday 9th from 7pm to 10 pm (workshop) Evangelic Methodist Church
• Saturday 10th from 9 am to 12 noon (workshop) Evangelic Methodist Church
  Saturday 10th from 1:30 pm to 5 pm (workshop) Institute of German Culture
• Sunday 11th from 11 am to 1 pm (workshop) Institute of German Culture
  Sunday 11th from 3 pm to 5 pm (workshop) Institute of German Culture
  Sunday 11th at 7 pm (CONCERT) Evangelic Methodist Church

ANDREA ROBINSON

Andrea Robinson’s exceptional teaching abilities were birthed in her youth whilst watching her mother’s great skill for conducting choirs. By the age of 16, Andrea’s own gift came to the forefront as, having been raised in the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC), she was asked to conduct the church’s national mass choir which included singers from all over the country. This choir sang with many celebrated gospel artists, including Andrae and Sandra Crouch, the Winans, Jessy Dixon and Shirley Caesar, in addition to several other musicians of note in the gospel arena. She currently hosts singing classes where potential students are often obliged to join a waiting list in order to successfully secure one of these much in demand places. In response to the increased demand for her skills and particularly for musical training amongst the church and wider Christian community, Andrea founded the RobinSing Music Academy in Stoke Newington, London, where her core objective is to successfully develop and enhance the individual and collective singing potential of budding would be singers and choirs. Andrea also runs the 'RobinSing Community Gospel Choir', a choir with members from varying backgrounds across the local community, and organises workshops in colleges, schools and churches all over England.
